Double Major Program

The aim of the Double Major Program (DMP) is to enable students who successfully continue their undergraduate programs in their own departments to receive a bachelor's degree in a second (major) branch at the same time. If the student successfully completes both departments, they receive two separate diplomas as if they have studied both departments for 4 years.

The quotas opened cannot be less than 5% and more than 20% of the number of students enrolled in the first year of the department that year. ITU generally uses 10% quota in this regard.

  • Completing at least 35 credits at the end of the 1st year and at least 75 credits at the end of the 2nd year
  • A cumulative grade point average of at least 3.00
  • In the first 20% of the class in terms of success,
  • Successful completion of all credit courses taken

Students can apply for the DMP. Applications for DMP are made in writing to both the 1st and 2nd major faculties within the 3rd week before the beginning of the semester. If the student wants to leave the DMP program later on, they can only leave the 2nd major. For more information, you can use the link below or You can consult Prof. Dr. Z. Petek ÇAKAR or Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aslı KUMBASAR.

Transfer Students

Students who cannot enter the department they want as a result of the university entrance exam have the right to change departments between faculties until the 3rd semester and within the faculty after the 3rd semester.

For this, students need to meet certain criteria. Overall GPA should be above 2.50. Evaluation for transferring to different departments are made based on the students’ GPAs. Overall GPAs are ranked from highest to smallest and this student placement procedure shows similarities to the university entrance exam.
